To prove my fannishness extends to math and vice versa, I described how I keep a spreadsheet to track the screen chronologies of the properties I cross over and their interrelation in real time. One fellow kept arguing with me that my policy was unnecessarily confining. He finally came out with (I paraphrase), "But if the Eccleston Doctor only visits the NX-01, then Riker never gets to chat up Billie Piper [Rose]!" I replied, "Oh! Why didn't you just say so?" - because, after all, as of Nemesis TNG is still as current STAR TREK as ENTERPRISE is. |
