| The next time I saw Escape from the Planet of the Apes after I drew this, I was reminded that Dr. Hasslein was killed in the same gunfight that killed Milo's parents at the end of the film. Hasslein was of course trying to avert the future history in which apes rule Earth, but Milo grew up to be the Caesar of Conquest of the Planet of the Apes and Battle for the Planet of the Apes. The Doctor alluded to the highway theory of time in my earlier work Nine to Five. |
